On Friday, October 2, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the Agora in Metz will host the second edition of Science Night, kicking off the celebrations of the Science Festival (FĂŞte de la Science).
This free event, open to everyone, offers a unique opportunity to discover research from a new perspective. The evening will feature exhibition booths, hands-on workshops, games, experiments, meetings with scientists, and improvised theatre performances. Around thirty research organizations and teams from the Lorraine region will be on hand to share their work with the public.
🧠NGERE Joins the Event
Our PhD student Maud Fertig will present her research through the activity “Toxic Relationship: When the Environment Makes Us Anxious.”
How do factors such as vitamin B9 deficiency, exposure to pollutants during pregnancy, and their effects on newborn development and behavior influence health? How do scientists investigate these risk factors? And can their effects be amplified when combined?
That’s not all! At 7:30 p.m., Maud will also take part in the Impro Lab. Together with the Crache-Texte theatre company, her research will inspire a 30-minute improvisational theatre session, offering an original and entertaining way to explore science.
🔬 An Evening to Explore Every Field of Science
Throughout the evening, visitors will be able to discover a wide range of topics, including food and chemistry, biodiversity, the environment, mathematics, computer science and artificial intelligence, health, sports, and the humanities.
The event will also feature an exhibition adapted from the comic book “What Are You Working On?”, showcasing the work of 11 research teams from Lorraine.
