PhD Student
My research focuses on the role of lipid remodelling of cell membranes in the mechanisms associated with Alzheimer’s disease. I am particularly interested in the influence of risk factors, such as the ApoE4 genotype and nutritional imbalances, on lipid homeostasis, membrane organisation, intracellular trafficking and neuronal signalling.
More specifically, I am studying the metabolic dialogue between astrocytes and neurons, particularly through the transport and turnover of lipids, as well as their impact on the functionality of membrane proteins.
