My research focuses on the genetics of obesity and the functional characterization of variants in the NPC1 gene. I am particularly interested in their associations with obesity-related traits and their functional consequences on pre-mRNA splicing, protein function, and intracellular trafficking, as well as their contribution to the molecular mechanisms underlying obesity.
